Surat al-Qadr, The Sura of Destiny(listen to two versions)

In the Name of God the Compassionate the Caring

We sent him/it down on the night of destiny
And what could tell you of the night of destiny
The night of qadr is better than a thousand months
The angels come down—the spirit upon her—
by permission of their lord from every order
Peace she is until the rise of dawn

bi smi             llahi         r-rahmani                  r-rahim
In the name    of God      the Compassionate     the Caring

wa ma adraka              ma          laylatu l-qadr
and what can tell you     what is     the night of qadr

laylatu l-qadri             khayrun     min alfi shahr
the night of destiny     is better      than a thousand months

Surat al-Zalzala, The Sura of the Quaking (listen)

In the Name of God the Compassionate the Caring

When the earth is shaken, quaking
When the earth bears forth her burdens
And someone says "what is with her?"
At that time she will tell her news
As her lord revealed her
At that time people will straggle forth
to be shown what they have done
Whoever does a mote's weight good will see it
Whoever does a mote's weight wrong will see it

bi smi             llahi         r-rahmani                  r-rahim
In the name    of God      the Compassionate     the Caring

idha      zulzilati        l-ardu         zilzalaha
when     quakes        the earth     in her quaking

wa      akhrajati        l-ardu          athqalaha
and     bears forth     the earth     her burdens

wa      qala      l-insanu         ma laha
and     says      the human     "what is with her"

yawma'idhin        tuhaddithu     akhbaraha
on that day         she will tell     her news

bi'anna     rabbaka     awha laha

yawma'idhin     yasduru             n-nasu     ashtatan

    li yuraw                a'malahum
to see be shown    their deeds

fa man             ya'mal     mithqala dharratin        khayran     yarah
so whoever       does        the weight of a mote     good          will see it

wa man             ya'mal     mithqala dharratin        sharran     yarah
and whoever      does        the weight of a mote     wrong       will see it

Surat al-Qari'a, The Sura of the Calamity (listen)

In the Name of God the Compassionate the Caring

The qari'a
What is the qari'a
What can tell you of the qari'a
A day humankind are like moths scattered

His is a life that is pleasing
Whoever's scales weigh light
His mother is hawiya
What can tell you what she is
Raging fire
